My initial premise for this laptop's problems is that it have a hard disk failure. I concluded on this after hearing and looking at symptoms:
- Extremely slow start-up (but fast reaction time from the mouse and keyboard)
- Clicking sound from the hard disk drive
Now, i am currently running diagnostics on the hard disk drive, checking for bad sectors. But I am doubtful of fixing this laptop up. The price for a replacement hard drive (2'5" IDE) for this laptop costs almost as much as the current cost of the laptop.
Well, who knows, it can be just some bad sector that can be fixed by the OS.
